Getting Started | CEQA 101

Enacted in 1970, CEQA requires state and local agencies to disclose and help mitigate for the environmental effects of projects — both public and private — before they approve them. But CEQA is a self-executing statute, meaning that it’s up to the public to use and enforce it. Start your CEQA journey here.

CNPS Comment Letter Database

As California’s voice for native plants, CNPS regularly submits public comment letters on a wide range of projects across the state. Search our active database of more than XXX real letters to research past projects and see strong examples of letters at varying stages of the conservation process.
